The National Assembly decided to add a Deputy Prime Minister and dismiss three ministers.

On the afternoon of October 24, the National Assembly held a separate meeting on personnel work under the chairmanship of National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man .

Decision to appoint Deputy Prime Minister

Accordingly, the National Assembly listened to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh present a report on supplementing the number of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 15th National Assembly term.

Chairman of the National Assembly Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai presented a report on the verification of the number of additional Deputy Prime Ministers for the 15th National Assembly term.

Afterwards, the National Assembly deputies met in the hall to listen to a report summarizing the opinions of the National Assembly deputies discussed in groups on increasing the number of Deputy Prime Ministers.

The National Assembly voted to pass a resolution to add the number of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 15th National Assembly term by electronic voting.

As a result, 434 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 91.56% of the total number of delegates); of which, 430 delegates approved (equal to 90.72% of the total number of delegates), 2 delegates did not approve (equal to 0.42% of the total number of delegates), and 2 delegates did not vote (equal to 0.42% of the total number of delegates).

Currently, in addition to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, the Government has 7 Deputy Prime Ministers, including: Nguyen Hoa Binh (Permanent Deputy Prime Minister), Tran Hong Ha, Le Thanh Long, Ho Duc Phoc, Bui Thanh Son, Nguyen Chi Dung and Mai Van Chinh.

Also at the session, the National Assembly listened to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh present a proposal requesting the National Assembly to approve the dismissal of a number of ministers for the 2021-2026 term.

Afterwards, the National Assembly met in the hall to listen to Chairman of the National Assembly Delegation Affairs Committee Nguyen Thanh Hai present a report summarizing the opinions of National Assembly deputies discussed at the relevant delegation to approve the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss a number of ministers for the 2021-2026 term.

The National Assembly established a ballot counting committee, conducted a secret ballot on personnel matters, and listened to the ballot counting committee announce the results of the ballot counting on personnel matters.

Next, the National Assembly listened to Permanent Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office Le Quang Manh (assigned to perform the duties of Secretary General of the National Assembly) present the National Assembly's draft resolutions on personnel work.

The National Assembly voted to pass a resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to dismiss a number of Ministers for the 2021-2026 term.

Specifically, Mr. Bui Thanh Son was dismissed from the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs; Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Tra was dismissed from the position of Minister of Home Affairs; and Mr. Do Duc Duy was dismissed from the position of Minister of Agriculture and Environment.

The resolution was passed by electronic voting. As a result, 418 delegates participated in the vote (equal to 88.19% of the total number of delegates), of which 418 delegates approved (equal to 88.19% of the total number of delegates).

Afterwards, the National Assembly listened to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh present a report on the proposal to the National Assembly to approve the appointment of Deputy Prime Ministers for the 2021-2026 term and approve the appointment of a number of Ministers for the 2021-2026 term.
