Ho Chi Minh City launches 'Pride of Border Marks' tour connecting Dong Thap and An Giang

On the morning of October 23, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism announced the launch of a new historical and cultural tour called “Pride of Border Marks”. This is a 3-day, 2-night “return to the roots” tourism product, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with Dong Thap and An Giang, bringing tourists to experience sacred border markers and interact with border guards.

According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , the tour is designed as a pilgrimage of gratitude and a journey of real experience on the Vietnam - Cambodia border.

The highlight of the journey is that visitors not only explore the landscape but also have the opportunity to interact with Border Guard soldiers, listen to stories about border protection work, protecting every inch of sacred land of the Fatherland.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Thao, Head of the Department of Tourism Resource Development Planning ( Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism), said that the tour "Proud of the imprints of the border region" is the result of the joint efforts between the Ho Chi Minh City tourism industry and the localities of the Mekong Delta.

“We hope to not only bring an attractive tourism product but also a journey of gratitude and patriotism for today's young generation. This journey contributes to diversifying tourism products, while promoting regional connectivity between Ho Chi Minh City - Dong Thap - An Giang, creating a driving force for sustainable development of regional tourism in the new context,” said Ms. Thao.

It is known that many businesses, experts and tourism researchers participated in the field survey to evaluate the quality of this new product.

According to the schedule, in Dong Thap, tourists will visit milestones 232 (Dinh Ba International Border Gate), milestone 235 (Moc Ra Border Gate) and milestone 240 (Thuong Phuoc International Border Gate). In An Giang, the journey continues with destinations such as milestone 275 (Tinh Bien International Border Gate), milestone 301 (Giang Thanh National Border Gate) and the Temple of Heroic Martyrs and Youth Volunteers who sacrificed their lives on Highway 1C.

A representative of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism said that in the coming time, the Department will coordinate with localities and travel agencies to widely promote this tour to students, businesses and overseas Vietnamese. The product will also be introduced in the series of tourism activities "Returning to the source - Returning to the Fatherland" in 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City.
