80-year-old airline from Africa wants to welcome more Vietnamese passengers

(NLDO) – The 80-year-old airline from Africa launched a special support policy to welcome more Vietnamese guests.

On October 24, Ethiopian Airlines, the national airline of Ethiopia and also the leading airline group in Africa with 80 years of history, held a workshop to introduce its flight network and new policies in Ho Chi Minh City.

This activity is part of Ethiopian Airlines' strategy to increase its presence in Vietnam and does not hide its ambition to welcome more Vietnamese passengers on intercontinental flights.

In July 2025, Ethiopian Airlines launched the Addis Ababa - Hanoi route, directly connecting Vietnam with Africa and destinations in Europe and America with just one stop. Currently, the airline operates 4 passenger flights per week between Hanoi and Addis Ababa, transiting in Dhaka (Bangladesh), using Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner along with 1 cargo flight per week connecting the two countries commercially.

Currently, Ethiopian Airlines is implementing many special support policies for agents and partners in Vietnam in the initial stages of operation.

At the workshop, Deks Air Vietnam (General agent for goods and services of Ethiopian Airlines in Vietnam) also introduced RailClick - a modern international train ticket booking platform, connecting with major train lines in Europe such as Trenitalia, Renfe, Eurostar, TGV, SBB... helping passengers easily combine planes and trains in their cross-continental travel itineraries.
