(NLDO) - Although having home field advantage, Long An Club could not take advantage and suffered a 0-1 defeat against Ho Chi Minh City Club in round 5 of the 2025-2026 National First Division on the evening of October 24.

Long An FC has had a poor start to the National First Division season. Coach Nguyen Ngoc Linh's team has suffered 4 defeats in 5 rounds, currently sitting in 9th place in the standings with 3 points from 5 matches played.

Long An (in red shirts) suffered their fourth defeat in the First Division this season.

With only a one-point lead over the chasing pack but having played one more match, Long An's ranking could change after the fifth round concludes.

Meanwhile, the victory against Long An helped Ho Chi Minh City FC climb to the top of the league table with 11 points, one point ahead of Dong Nai but having played one more match.

Notably, with his goal in round 5, 19-year-old Vietnamese-born center-back Zan Nguyen scored his first goal for Ho Chi Minh City FC in the First Division this season. Maintaining this impressive form will also help the 1.90m tall center-back impress the coaching staff and increase his chances of playing for the Vietnamese national teams at various levels.
