The Vietnam-Germany Cooperation Workshop on Training and Human Resource Development for University and Vocational Studies in Germany took place on October 24th in Hanoi, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Federal Republic of Germany (1975–2025).

The Vietnam-Germany Education and Employment Association officially launched.
The event attracted the attention of nearly 200 delegates, including representatives from German agencies such as DAAD, AHK, the Goethe Institute, GIZ, and individuals and organizations involved in German language training and study abroad consulting in Germany.
Over the past decade, thousands of Vietnamese trainees, students, and workers have been studying and working in Germany through vocational training programs, degree conversion programs, and high-skilled labor programs, making positive contributions to the socio -economic development of both countries.

Germany is a strategic partner of Vietnam in human resource development.
According to experts, Germany is currently Vietnam's leading partner in Europe, with comprehensive cooperation in many fields, especially education, vocational training, and the development of highly skilled labor. Given that the German economy needs a large number of foreign workers to maintain growth and meet industrial development demands, Vietnam has become a reliable partner in providing high-quality human resources.
The learning and working environment in Germany is considered modern, professional, disciplined, and offers many opportunities for long-term development, making it an attractive destination for young Vietnamese people. Germany's demand for skilled workers is expected to continue to increase over the next decade.

Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Standing Vice President of the Vietnam-Germany Friendship Association, delivered a speech at the seminar.
Germany has become more open, and many programs now accept qualifications obtained in Vietnam, allowing graduates to work in Germany immediately or shorten their training time. The German government has a policy of allowing permanent residency and citizenship for international students and foreign workers employed in Germany.
On this occasion, the Vietnam-Germany Education and Employment Association (VGECA) officially launched with the hope of bringing study abroad and employment activities in Germany into a transparent, professional, and effective framework, meeting the expectations of both Vietnam and Germany.

Dr. Nguyen Tuan Nam, Head of the Vietnam-Germany Education and Employment Association
The goal of VGECA is to standardize German language and culture training, provide accurate and reliable information to students, parents, and workers; enhance the operational capacity of member units in German language counseling and teaching, and support integration. At the same time, it represents the common voice of businesses in the industry, coordinating with agencies, organizations, and chapters in Vietnam and Germany to promote the sustainable development of bilateral education and employment.
The association also serves as a bridge between German organizations, corporations, and companies in need of manpower in Vietnam and its members.

The workshop attracted over 200 delegates.
VGECA points out current challenges such as weak German language skills and career guidance, slow administrative procedures, and inconsistent quality of counseling. The association is committed to working with German partners to build a fair, effective, and sustainable human resource cooperation framework, aiming for a transparent labor market and better protecting the rights of Vietnamese learners.
