Bebe Rexha gets phone thrown at her face while performing
According to a video clip recorded by an audience and posted online, while the female singer was performing enthusiastically and the audience below cheered for her, suddenly a man in the crowd threw a phone onto the stage. Due to surprise, Bebe Rexha was unable to avoid it and the phone hit her in the face.
The singer's crew arrived shortly afterwards and took her backstage. A spokesperson for the New York Police Department confirmed that Bebe Rexha was taken to a nearby hospital. The man who threw the phone, Nicolas Malvagna, 27, was arrested at the scene and faces assault charges.
Bebe Rexha posted a photo on Instagram, smiling and raising her hands to reassure her fans. She captioned it saying she was fine despite a bruised left eye and a cut under her eyebrow.

Many of the singer's fans were angry with the attacker. They commented: "A great show was ruined by an attacker throwing a phone at Bebe Rexha.
