From early morning on December 17, 980 delegates attending the congress, representing more than 9 million members of the Vietnam Youth Union, 5 affiliated units abroad and 7 affiliated member organizations, visited the Bac Son Martyrs' Monument and held a ceremony to report achievements, offer flowers and pay homage to President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
Female athlete Chau Tuyet Van was moved to represent more than 21 million members at home and abroad attending the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union (taking place from December 16 to 18) to report her achievements in front of President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.
On behalf of the delegates attending the congress, she promised to "always keep her heart pure, nurture her dreams and ambitions and be determined to contribute more to her homeland and country, worthy of being the youth of Uncle Ho's generation".
The Union's chapters at all levels have effectively implemented the goals and solutions for the Union's work and youth movements set forth by the 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union , term 2019-2024.
After the report ceremony and visit to Uncle Ho's Mausoleum by the delegates, the 9th Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union opened on the morning of December 17 at the National Convention Center (Hanoi).
In the afternoon, delegates discussed in groups on topics such as "Vietnamese youth study, innovate, start a business", "Vietnamese youth volunteer for the community".
The solemn and closing session of the congress took place on the morning of December 18.
The Vietnam Youth Union Congress took place from December 16 to 18.
The congress is a festival of millions of young people at home and abroad.
Many delegates attending the congress are examples of overcoming adversity.
