Athlete Huynh Ha Huu Hieu.
Vietnamese female boxer Huynh Ha Huu Hieu created a stir when she ranked number 1 in the minimum weight class (45.39kg) in the newly announced WBC World Muay Thai Rankings.
In the world's Top 12 in the above weight class, the Vietnamese female boxer has excellently "surpassed" both European champion Elisabetta Solinas of Italy and 09 female boxers from Thailand - the country that is the homeland of Muay Thai.
Last month, Huu Hieu won an overwhelming victory in the WBC Muay Thai minimum weight title match against Thai boxer Pornthip Khamthongphanow (ranked 7th in the world). In all 3 rounds, the home boxer dominated.
However, in round 3, Huu Hieu continuously launched dangerous punches at Pornthip's face, making her unable to continue the match. The referee stopped the match and declared Huu Hieu the winner thanks to knockouts.
This victory not only helped Huu Hieu win his first professional Muay Thai championship title, but also helped the Vietnamese female boxer rise from No. 5 to No. 1 on the WBC World Muay Thai Rankings.
With this achievement, Huu Hieu became the highest ranked Vietnamese boxer in WBC Muay history.
If male boxer Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat is famous in men's Muay Thai with 7 world championships, Huynh Ha Huu Hieu is also famous in Vietnamese martial arts with 2 world women's Muay Thai championships in 2019 and 2021.
The girl born in 1999 also won the Gold Medal at the 2013 World Youth Championship, the 2022 World Grand Slam, the Silver Medal at the 31st SEA Games and the Gold Medal at the 32nd SEA Games.
Huynh Ha Huu Hieu has a modest height of 1m58, but on the fighting ring, the girl from Khanh Hoa always makes everyone look up with her glorious victories.
Experts predict that with such a huge record of achievements at the age of 24, the "pepper" female boxer will continue to reap more success in the future.
