Accordingly, from the early afternoon of September 12, the Buong River suddenly rose, flooding the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project section through Phuoc Tan Ward, forcing construction to be temporarily halted. By noon of September 13, due to the continued flooding, construction work had not yet resumed.

According to the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board, the construction of the route was interrupted due to the rising water level of the Buong River, causing flooding for about 1km from the intersection with Dinh Quang An Street (Km1+500) to the intersection with the Tan Cang Quarry Special Road (Km2+600).

Currently, the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board has also coordinated with contractors to monitor the situation so that construction can be quickly resumed after the water recedes. However, according to the assessment, for the roadbed construction at this section, when the water recedes, it is necessary to wait for the roadbed to dry (1-2 sunny days) before construction can resume.

Currently, the project has 2 main construction packages with a total implementation value of over 1.1 trillion VND, reaching over 46% of the signed contract value.

At the request of the Prime Minister and the Provincial People's Committee, Component Project 1 of the Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Expressway Project must complete technical traffic opening before December 19, 2025.
