Realizing the advantages that cannot be found anywhere else, Kim Son district has devoted many resources to support people in applying science and technology to production such as: Breeding, developing algae as food for oysters, improving irrigation systems, treating water sources...
At the same time, guide people to strictly implement the commitment in the Memorandum of Understanding on coordination in supplying and managing the quality of mollusk seeds with the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Ninh province signed in 2020. Thanks to that, a chain linking the production and consumption of oyster seeds has been formed and developed.

Through research, Kim Son oyster seeds have been granted the trademark certificate “Kim Son District Oyster Seeds” by the Intellectual Property Office. Therefore, Kim Son oyster seeds have a higher price and are popular in most provinces such as Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, etc. In particular, Kim Son has also planned for the seed production area, which is also a great potential advantage for local oyster seed production.
A commune has revenue of 60 billion VND
Kim Trung is a commune with suitable terrain and soil for oyster seed production with a regularly repaired canal system, creating conditions for tidal water supply and drainage for production households.

Thereby, the Commune People's Committee has coordinated with consulting units to submit to the Commune People's Council to adjust the planning of aquaculture seed production areas in the new rural construction planning. In addition, it also creates conditions for people to produce concentrated aquaculture seeds along the first-class canal system, thereby helping people get rich from oyster seed farming.
Mr. Vu Truong Thu - Chairman of Kim Trung Commune People's Committee said: "Currently, in Kim Trung Commune, there are about 630 households raising aquatic products with an area of 277 hectares; of which, oyster seed farming alone covers an area of about 120 hectares, bringing high profits.
In 2023, the total oyster seed output of the commune will be more than 3 billion seeds, with revenue reaching 60 billion VND. It can be affirmed that oyster seed farming is a direction that brings higher economic efficiency than shrimp and crab farming, and has less impact on the environment.

In addition to the land support policy mechanism, Kim Trung commune is currently focusing on calling for investment resources to upgrade and complete the canal system in the aquaculture area, helping people feel secure in production.
Mr. Vu Truong Thu said that although he knows that the efficiency of oyster breeding and raising brings high economic benefits, the commune will not expand the area, but instead focus on improving quality and creating a prominent brand for oysters.
According to statistics from the Department of Fisheries, Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Ninh Binh province, the whole region currently has more than 350 facilities with an area of more than 354 hectares producing clam and oyster seeds. In 2023, the total aquaculture area of the district will reach more than 4,467 hectares; of which, oyster seeds will reach 13.5 billion.
Also in 2023, the revenue from oyster seed farming in the district will reach about 240 billion VND, with many farms earning from 1.5 to 2 billion VND/ha/year. This shows that oyster seed farming in Kim Son district is developing very well and has the potential to develop even more strongly in the coming time.
