At this time, at the smoked pork production facility of Ms. Nguyen Thi Hai (Binh Gia commune), the fire burns almost continuously day and night. Ms. Hai said: "Our smoked pork product was recognized as a 3-star OCOP product in 2024. Since being recognized as an OCOP product, the market for our smoked pork has expanded significantly, selling not only within the province but also to provinces and cities nationwide. Especially during the Lunar New Year, consumption increases 2-3 times compared to normal days. To ensure product quality, I carefully select clean, traceable raw materials. The processing procedure is strictly followed from the seasoning stage to the wood-fired drying stage..."
Similarly, at the traditional Tat Lien rice cake production facility in That Khe commune (a 3-star OCOP product), workers are busy making rice cakes to serve the Tet market. Ms. Dong Tat Lien, the owner of the facility, said: Rice cakes are an indispensable product for the Tay and Nung ethnic groups during Tet. Therefore, during Tet, consumption increases by about 40% compared to normal days. From the 10th lunar month, the facility prepares ingredients such as glutinous rice, sugar, peanuts, etc., to serve production. From the 12th lunar month, the facility starts making cakes to serve the Tet market and fulfill customer orders. In addition, the facility also focuses on investing in improving the design and packaging in boxes suitable for gifts. It is expected that this Tet season, the facility will produce and sell more than 800 packages of rice cakes with a variety of fillings such as mung bean, peanut and sesame, and meat.

According to statistics from specialized agencies, the province currently has 163 OCOP products with valid certification, including many distinctive products suitable as Tet gifts such as: herbal rice wine, "khau sli" (a type of Vietnamese sausage), grilled spring rolls, cured sausage, "khau nhuc" (a type of braised pork belly)... To meet market demand during Tet and maintain the reputation of the OCOP brand, production facilities have proactively prepared raw materials early, invested in improving machinery and equipment to enhance productivity and product quality. In particular, facilities focus on strictly adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations, while also improving product design and packaging to be more elegant and reflect the unique cultural characteristics of the locality. According to assessments by OCOP producers, during Tet, the consumption of products increases by approximately 30-40%, with agricultural products and processed foods continuing to be popular in the market.
Mr. Nong Cong Toan from Luong Van Tri ward said: "In recent years, my family has often chosen OCOP products from the province to enjoy and give as gifts to relatives and friends during Tet. Because the products not only have the distinctive characteristics of our hometown but also ensure quality and clear origin. This Lunar New Year, I have already ordered products such as 'banh khao' (rice cakes), dried persimmons, and dried meat from OCOP product manufacturers in the province."
Mr. Hoang Van Chieu, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: "The period leading up to the Lunar New Year is the peak time for the production and consumption of OCOP products and specialty agricultural products. Therefore, the department has directed its specialized departments to develop a plan, focusing on inspecting and monitoring the quality and food safety at food production and business establishments in the agricultural sector, including those producing and selling OCOP products. Through inspections, most OCOP product production facilities strictly comply with regulations, proactively invest in upgrading facilities, improving designs and packaging, ensuring product quality, contributing to meeting consumer demand during the Tet holiday and maintaining the reputation of the local OCOP brand."
As Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, the atmosphere at OCOP (One Commune One Product) production facilities in the province is becoming increasingly vibrant. The proactive approach to raw materials, manpower, and production processes by these facilities not only ensures an abundant supply of high-quality goods for the Tet market but also affirms the prestige and brand of local OCOP products. This contributes to job creation, increased income for the people, promotes sustainable rural economic development, and spreads the cultural values and identity of the homeland through each product to consumers during the spring season.
