The Vietnamese sports delegation has only 3 athletes who have not yet competed in the 2024 Olympics and these are also the ones expected to "quench the thirst" for medals in France.

On August 4, the Vietnamese sports delegation only had athlete Nguyen Thi That competing in the cycling event (women's individual road final). The Vietnamese sports delegation participated in the 2024 Olympics with 16 athletes, but after 8 days of competition, 13 people lost their chance to win medals. At this time, there are only 3 Vietnamese athletes who have not competed in the 2024 Olympics, namely Nguyen Thi That (cycling), Nguyen Thi Huong (canoeing) and Trinh Van Vinh (weightlifting). Up to now, the best achievement of the Vietnamese sports delegation in Paris 2024 is the 4th place of shooter Trinh Thu Vinh in the women's 10m air pistol. Weightlifter Trinh Van Vinh will compete on August 7 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. Trinh Van Vinh will compete with 11 other athletes. Trinh Van Vinh is currently in the world's Top 6 in the 61kg category with a total lift of 294kg (snatch 131kg, clean and jerk 163kg). Of course, to win a medal at the 2024 Olympics, Trinh Van Vinh needs to make more efforts. Nguyen Thi That represents Vietnamese cyclists in the women's road event. The women's road cycling mass start event at this Olympics has a distance of 158km. In June 2023, Nguyen Thi That successfully defended the gold medal in the mass start event at the Asian Cycling Championship (Thailand). Therefore, Nguyen Thi That is expected to bring home a medal for the Vietnamese sports delegation at the 2024 Olympics. Nguyen Thi That will compete in the final of the women's individual road event at 7:00 p.m. today (August 4). Meanwhile, canoeist Nguyen Thi Huong will participate in the 2024 Olympics for the first time. This is also the first time Vietnamese canoeing has participated in the Olympics with an official ticket. Nguyen Thi Huong competes in the C1 200 event at the 2024 Olympics.
