US President Joe Biden praised his foreign policy achievements during his four-year term and left a solid foundation for the next administration.
In his final foreign policy speech at the State Department on January 13, Mr. Biden praised his administration's foreign policy achievements and predicted challenges ahead, including wars in Ukraine and the Middle East, according to Axios .
President Biden said the US is “winning the global competition”, not being overtaken economically by China as predicted, while other rivals are affected by conflicts. He emphasized that Washington has maintained a complicated relationship with Beijing and has not escalated the relationship into conflict after 4 years.

“My administration has left the next administration with a strong advantage, leaving America with stronger friends and allies, and weaker and more vulnerable adversaries,” Biden said.
The US leader urged progress toward building a just and lasting peace for Ukraine. Regarding the situation in the Middle East, Mr. Biden noted that a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza is on the way. He defended his support and tens of billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine over the past three years and his support for Israel in the Middle East conflict.

In addition, Mr. Biden also defended the decision to withdraw troops from Afghanistan in 2021, saying that nothing would please opponents more than the US continuing to be bogged down for many more years.
President Biden also urged President-elect Donald Trump to continue the green energy policies he has built. After his foreign policy speech, President Joe Biden will deliver his final address to the nation on January 15.
