Mr. Donald Trump officially became the 47th President of the United States

The inauguration ceremony of the 47th US President was held inside the Capitol Building instead of outdoors as is traditional due to inclement weather conditions.

Before that, the welcome musical performance took place at 9:30 a.m. (9:30 p.m. Vietnam time). The University of Nebraska-Lincoln Choir and the US Marine Corps Band played the opening music. In addition, participating in the performance were country music star Carrie Underwood, opera singer Christopher Macchio and singer-songwriter Lee Greenwood.

Many US lawmakers and officials attended Mr. Trump's inauguration alongside three former Presidents Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Barack Obama, along with President Joe Biden. Vice President Kamala Harris, Mr. Trump's opponent in the 2024 US presidential election, also appeared at the event.

A host of tech CEOs including Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Elon Musk (Tesla), Tim Cook (Apple) and Sundar Pichai (Google) were also present at the inauguration of the US President-elect. Among these tech tycoons, many have become close to Mr. Trump in recent months. They were arranged to sit on the inauguration podium alongside the nominees for the Cabinet and elected officials of Mr. Trump’s new administration.

Mr. Trump is the second President in American political history to serve two non-consecutive terms after Mr. Grover Cleveland, who was elected in 1884 and 1892.
