Putin said that Ukraine had chosen a path of "threatening Russia, Russian citizens, and attacking residential buildings." He also said that air defenses around Moscow would be strengthened.

Three drones were suppressed by Russian electronic warfare forces, causing them to lose control and deviate from their intended targets. The remaining five drones were shot down by Russia in the Moscow region using Pantsir-S missile and gun systems.
