USA Today reported that the tense incident between Mr. Trump and NBC reporter Vaughn Hillyard occurred on the plane, after his campaign rally in Waco, Texas on March 25.
The recording released by the Washington Post on May 3 shows that in a joint interview, reporter Hillyard focused on the Manhattan district attorney's investigation that put Trump at risk of prosecution.
In fact, on March 18, before the election campaign in Waco, Mr. Trump announced on the social network Truth that he was about to be arrested, and called on his supporters to protest against this.
"It sounds like the former president is angry," reporter Vaughn Hillyard asked Mr. Trump after mentioning the investigation by the New York prosecutor.
In response, the 45th former president of the United States said: "Do I look angry? I'm not angry about anything. I just gave a two-hour speech. It was a fake investigation. We did nothing wrong, I said it before. It's fake news and NBC is one of the worst fake news outlets. Don't ask me any more questions."
The situation got worse when about 20 minutes later, reporter Hillyard asked another question related to the Manhattan prosecutor's investigation, this time making Mr. Trump angry.
"Get out, get him out of here. Get out of here!" - the former US president asked the NBC reporter to leave his plane.
Trump then asked if the phone on the table belonged to Hillyard. He then grabbed the reporter’s phone and threw it away, making a loud noise on the recording.
Currently, neither former President Donald Trump nor NBC have responded to the information that is attracting attention in the US.

On April 4, Mr. Trump appeared in court in New York, where Manhattan prosecutors announced 34 charges of falsifying business records. However, the former US president denied all charges and was later released without bail.
After the trial, the former US president appeared optimistic and declared that the polls showed his approval rating was better than ever. Mr. Trump also called the trial day "the greatest in history".
The incident made Mr. Trump the first former president in US history to be prosecuted.
The next hearing is scheduled for December 4 and the trial could begin in January 2024, a month before the presidential primary election.
