Many solutions to restructure the economy

Regarding economic restructuring, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized that this is a major policy. In the current context, we must restructure the economy with synchronous and effective solutions.

Specifically, there are many solutions to restructuring the economy. For example, in terms of the market, we must diversify the market, expand it more and not depend on a few markets. This helps us to respond flexibly to unpredictable fluctuations and also to have an independent economy.

In terms of production, we need to increase deep processing, choose to develop green finance, green economy, digital economy, and semiconductor chips with high scientific and technological content.

Regarding attracting foreign investment, this is also an important solution, but the time has passed when we attracted projects with a high processing rate, mainly to solve employment problems. Now we have to change, if we do not change the way we attract foreign investment (FDI), we will not be able to overcome the middle-income trap, because the processing part in the product value chain never exceeds 15% of the product value. Therefore, attracting foreign investment must be associated with technology transfer, science and technology development, supporting industries, etc.

"Those are the things to restructure the economy. There are many difficulties, nothing is not difficult, if we foresee the difficulties, we will overcome them," Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh emphasized.

Referring to the issue of private economic development, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh affirmed that the Party and State are always committed to creating an open, transparent, convenient, and attractive investment and business environment for businesses to do business and develop.

The view on the private economy has undergone major changes in the way of looking at and evaluating, that is, the role of the private economy is considered a very important pillar to promote the economy, innovation and development of science and technology. The view on the private economy is now approaching the world's view and criteria. Accordingly, the glory of entrepreneurs and private enterprises is evaluated based on the criteria specified by the Politburo in the Resolution on private economic development.

"These are the core criteria for us to evaluate private enterprises and with a new perspective, I think it will create excitement and confidence for private enterprises in the coming time, thereby this business sector will make an important contribution to ensuring 8% growth in 2025 and double digits in the following years," said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

Pollution in urban areas, this is a problem.

Affirming that pollution in urban areas is a serious problem, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh said that in recent times, we have done a lot of things, innovated the collection and treatment of waste, relocated production facilities out of big cities, dealt with pollution in rivers and lakes; implemented the policy of moving crowded facilities, such as universities, out of central areas; increased planting of urban trees;...

In the long term, in dealing with pollution, the Government has been assigned by the Politburo to develop a project to address air and water pollution, and this task is being actively implemented and will be reported to the Politburo. Accordingly, it is necessary to take into account means of transport in urban areas; promote the development of green transport, strengthen measures to limit personal transport and increase public transport facilities.

"This is a long-term, fundamental project with many solutions and applying environmental observation using modern means, environmental analysis and assessment using AI to provide early warning to people," said Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh.

Care, facilitate and encourage the development of traditional medicine

Regarding the development of traditional medicine, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh affirmed that traditional medicine has never been forgotten. Traditional medicine has always been our pride. In fact, it has been a lifesaver, especially in remote areas and now even in urban areas, people rely on traditional medicine. The Party, State and Government always pay attention, create conditions and encourage the development of traditional medicine.

In the future, when the Politburo approves the Project on medical development and health care for the people, we will continue to strengthen traditional medicine. This is a solution for Vietnam to be chosen as a world destination for medical treatment, including traditional medicine.

"In fact, many localities have developed very attractive medicinal material areas and are solutions to improve people's lives. You see in Quang Nam or Kon Tum, areas with Ngoc Linh ginseng or many other medicinal areas, people's lives have improved significantly, even more prosperous and wealthy than in urban areas," Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh cited examples./.
