Attending the dialogue conference were Mr. Huynh Van Son, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Finance, Provincial Economic Zone Management Board; Tax Department of Region XVII; Mr. Kim Nyoung Ho, Chairman of KOCHAM Vietnam Association; Mr. Ho Joong, Chairman of KOCHAM Long An Branch; Mr. Ngo Ngoc Khanh, Permanent Vice Chairman of Vietnam Industrial Support Alliance (VISA); Mr. Vo Quoc Thang, Chairman of the Council of Mekong Delta Business Associations, Chairman of the Board of Directors of DongTam Group; 70 typical enterprises representing more than 2,600 enterprises carrying out customs procedures at the Customs Department of Region XVII.
Sharing at the conference, Head of the Regional Customs Branch XVII Nguyen Trung Hai emphasized that enterprises have made important contributions to economic growth, budget revenue and import-export turnover of the province and the whole country. Accompanying that development, the Regional Customs Branch XVII always strives to reform administrative procedures, modernize customs management, and aim to build a professional-transparent-effective customs. These efforts not only contribute to the state budget but also contribute to attracting investment, promoting economic development and social security in the management area.
As evidence of this, implementing the policies of the Party, the State and the direction of the Ministry of Finance and the Customs Department, in March 2025, the unit has gradually arranged, streamlined, and stabilized the organization according to the new model, ensuring customs clearance for import and export goods of enterprises.
According to statistics in the first 6 months of 2025, Customs Region XVII processed 303,244 declarations, an increase of 16% over the same period last year, with import-export turnover reaching 10.4 billion USD, an increase of 8%, and budget revenue reaching 2,273 billion VND, an increase of 8%, reaching 50% of the year's estimate.
"Today's conference is not only an opportunity for us to listen, share and resolve difficulties and obstacles in import and export activities, but also an opportunity for the Regional Customs Branch XVII and the business community to look back, evaluate and continue to strengthen cooperation and companionship in the coming time," emphasized Branch Director Nguyen Trung Hai.
Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman of Long An Provincial People's Committee Huynh Van Son emphasized: Long An government and enterprises are like two friends accompanying and developing together. At the same time, he pledged to always accompany and create the most favorable conditions for enterprises and investors to develop long-term and effectively in Long An.
At the conference, business representatives raised questions about procedures and time for customs clearance of goods; tax policies and supervision of import and export goods; post-clearance inspection, settlement reports, and supervision of the use of duty-free goods. With an open and constructive spirit, the customs authority acknowledged the difficulties and clearly and fully answered the concerns of businesses. Contents beyond its authority will be compiled and reported to the Customs Department or competent authorities for consideration and resolution as soon as possible.
Director of the Department Nguyen Trung Hai said that opinions on difficulties, proposals and solutions from businesses are useful information to help customs agencies have more basis to review and improve business processes, and at the same time recommend competent authorities to make necessary adjustments to facilitate import-export and business activities of businesses.
The customs authority is committed to always innovating, improving management efficiency and creating the most favorable conditions for import and export activities. In particular, the focus is on 5 main actions including: Strengthening administrative discipline, strictly handling violations; propagating and supporting businesses; resolving procedures transparently and impartially; handling problems promptly; improving the capacity of civil servants. At the same time, it is requested that businesses cooperate in complying with the law, supporting anti-smuggling and accompanying in digital transformation to improve the efficiency of procedures.
In addition, Mr. Nguyen Trung Hai hopes that in the coming time, businesses will always accompany, enhance understanding and cooperate in the spirit of "Thinking together - doing together - sharing together - developing together", to promote compliance with the law, contribute ideas to perfect policies in accordance with the reality of socio-economic development, towards a transparent, favorable and effective business environment.

At the 2025 Customs-Business Dialogue Conference, Region XVII Customs Branch awarded certificates of merit to 12 outstanding businesses with outstanding achievements in 2024.
Of these, 7 enterprises were commended for their good compliance with customs laws and large import-export turnover, including: Alliance One Garment Company Limited, Simone Vietnam Handbag Company Limited, Long An Export Garment Joint Stock Company, Espersen Vietnam Company Limited, Lien Quan International Company Limited, Hai Luong Vietnam Copper Processing Company Limited and Tien Giang Food Company.
In addition, 5 enterprises were awarded certificates of merit for good compliance with customs laws and high tax payments to the state budget, including: The Gioi Viet Company Limited, Long An Food Joint Stock Company, Vina One Steel Production Joint Stock Company, Le Long Vietnam Company Limited and HS Company Limited.
