On October 14, the Hai Phong City Relief Mobilization Committee held a meeting to seek opinions on allocating and supporting people to overcome damage caused by storm No. 3.
At the meeting, Vice Chairman of the City Fatherland Front Committee Bui Van Bac said that up to now, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of districts in the area have strictly implemented the information regime, reported the results of receiving, allocating and using the funding to support people affected by storm No. 3. As of October 11, 2024, the districts have allocated 30.4 billion VND out of the total first round of support funding of 47.02 billion VND (reaching 64.65%).
Up to now, 4/15 districts have requested to continue supporting the construction of new houses; 1/15 districts have requested to support people suffering losses in agriculture , livestock and aquaculture; 7/15 districts have requested to support both the construction of new houses and the support of people suffering losses in agriculture, livestock and aquaculture.
In the coming time, the City Relief Mobilization Committee will continue to allocate the second phase of funding of over 34 billion VND from the mobilized source, receiving support from the people to overcome the damage caused by storm No. 3 to the District Relief Mobilization Committee. The above funding will be used to support the construction of new houses for 346 poor households; near-poor households; households with difficult circumstances that cannot overcome. Of which, 333 households will be built new houses, 13 households that have repaired their houses in the first phase will switch to building new houses.
Members of the City Relief Mobilization Committee agreed on the support level for building new houses of 100 million VND/household; for the first phase of house repairs to be converted to new construction, the support level is 80 million VND/household.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Dao Trong Duc, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city - Head of the City Relief Mobilization Committee, requested localities to continue to prioritize the allocation of funding to support the construction of houses for the poor, near-poor, and those in difficult circumstances who are unable to stabilize their lives before Tet. Localities need to carefully review the beneficiaries; and allocate funding promptly, publicly, and transparently.
Previously, on September 19, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city - Standing Committee of the Hai Phong City Mobilization and Relief Committee decided to allocate the first phase of funding of 47.02 billion VND to districts in the area to overcome the consequences of storm No. 3.
