Strive to complete Tan Son Nhat T3 station on time for April 30, 2025

On the afternoon of February 12 (the third day of the Lunar New Year), Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh worked and inspected the Tan Son Nhat T3 passenger terminal project. This was the fourth time Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited the project site.

Tan Son Nhat T3 Terminal project has a capacity of 20 million passengers per year; includes 1 basement, 4 floors, total area of ​​112,000 m2. The project has a total investment of nearly 11,000 billion VND, invested by Vietnam Airports Corporation (ACV).

According to the report of the Ministry of Transport and the investor, the project has completed the site clearance of more than 16 hectares according to the Government's Resolution on removing obstacles in handing over defense land for the project.

The joint venture has mobilized over 400 vehicles, machines, equipment and 1,400 workers to carry out all the work at the construction site. The overall progress of the project is basically on schedule, with some items ahead of schedule. However, some items need to be accelerated. The total value of payments and advances from the beginning of the project to date is over VND 2,390 billion (22%).

After inspecting the site and listening to reports, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh was pleased with the results achieved in the work; after about 6 months of starting construction of the station (August 31, 2023), the project is gradually taking shape, construction has reached the 3rd floor; the equipment has signed a procurement contract; the connecting road invested by Ho Chi Minh City is also basically formed.

In particular, workers on the construction site were very excited and happy to work through Tet, as well as on many key projects across the country, in accordance with the Government's directive of "only working, no retreat", "overcoming the sun and rain", working in 3 shifts, 4 shifts, "eating quickly, sleeping urgently"...

The Prime Minister praised Ho Chi Minh City and the agencies for their efforts, hard work and responsibility in implementing the project, and especially ACV for its progress.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also said that the situation of celebrating Tet and enjoying the Spring Festival of Giap Thin 2023 across the country is basically good, especially in ensuring social security.

The Prime Minister requested agencies and contractors to focus on mobilizing human resources and means, applying modern technologies, ensuring progress, quality, techniques, and aesthetics of the Tan Son Nhat T3 terminal project, ensuring labor safety and hygiene, contributing to public investment disbursement, promoting growth of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country.

In particular, the Prime Minister requested to be more determined, make greater efforts, shorten the construction time, strive to complete and put the project into use on time, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the liberation of the South and national reunification (April 30, 2025). To do so, it is necessary to rebuild the progress critical path in both construction and procurement, equipment installation, launch emulation movements and motivate workers and laborers.

Assigning tasks to agencies, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Transport, the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, ACV and contractors to focus on promoting progress and ensuring quality.

The Ministry of Construction and consulting and supervising units continue to inspect, supervise and control quality. Ho Chi Minh City must closely monitor and strengthen direction to complete and speed up the progress of the connecting road.

For items in the station related to security, immigration, customs, etc., the ministries and branches in charge of each field must actively implement so that when the project is completed, the assigned tasks can be immediately implemented.

The Prime Minister emphasized the need to build a modern airport, promote digital transformation, and make it most convenient for tourists, and suggested some additional contents such as the project must have more aesthetic highlights, more trees, more flowers, etc. Agencies should strengthen inspection, supervision, and prevention of corruption, negative, and waste.

The Prime Minister asked agencies to further study traffic connection plans from Tan Son Nhat to the outside, especially the connection between Tan Son Nhat and Long Thanh airport.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister also asked ACV leaders to report on the non-stop toll collection situation at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports and expand to other airports.

Reviewing some lessons learned from the project, the Prime Minister said that the mindset must be clear, determination must be high, efforts must be great, actions must be drastic and effective, each task must be completed thoroughly; leadership and management must closely follow reality, respect reality, start from reality, take reality as a measure, listen to opinions from many perspectives, all for the common good, national and ethnic interests, and the interests of the people... In particular, there must be no sub-contracting but a general contractor to easily control the progress and quality of the project.

Also at the meeting, the agencies exchanged opinions on studying the possibility of continuing to relocate constructions in the project area so that the overall airport as well as the project area would be more spacious, modern, synchronous, airy and beautiful. ACV General Director Vu The Phiet pledged to complete the project on April 30, 2025 as directed by the Prime Minister .
