Statement by Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang on March 27, 2024, in response to a reporter's question asking for Vietnam's reaction to the United Nations Security Council's adoption of Resolution 2728 on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip

On March 27, 2024, in response to a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's reaction to the United Nations Security Council's adoption of Resolution 2728 on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Vietnam Pham Thu Hang affirmed:

" Vietnam welcomes Resolution 2728 on ceasefire in the Gaza Strip adopted by the United Nations Security Council on March 25, 2024, and calls on relevant parties to immediately implement the Resolution towards a lasting and sustainable ceasefire in the region, step up humanitarian relief, and protect civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Vietnam supports all efforts of the international community in promoting parties to exercise restraint, dialogue, and resolve disagreements by peaceful means, on the basis of respect for international law and relevant Resolutions of the Security Council in order to soon reach a fair, satisfactory, and long-term solution for the Middle East peace process./. "
