Visiting Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang, Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Council at Hue Nghiem Pagoda (Thu Duc City), the President wished the Supreme Patriarch and all monks, nuns, and Buddhists a joyful, peaceful, and happy Buddha's birthday.

The President acknowledged that over the past years, under the leadership and guidance of the church, many monks, nuns and Buddhists from all over the country have participated in movements and campaigns to build a healthy cultural and moral life, support the disadvantaged, and care for the disadvantaged and unfortunate... "These activities have highlighted the spirit of protecting the country and the people of Vietnamese Buddhism, which has been formed, cultivated and developed over many centuries," the President emphasized. Such active participation has contributed to the country's great achievements of historical significance, and the people's lives have become increasingly prosperous and happy. The President affirmed that over the past years, the Party and State have paid great attention to implementing policies and laws on religion, supporting the freedom of belief of all citizens.

At the meeting, Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang thanked the President and Party and State leaders for their special affection and attention to the church, and at the same time conveyed to General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong his gratitude for the leadership of the Party and State in helping the country prosper, including Buddhism. Regarding Ho Chi Minh City, Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang expressed his closeness with Secretary Nguyen Van Nen, always exchanging and sharing to resolve all matters in the best way.

After that, President Vo Van Thuong and his delegation visited and congratulated Most Venerable Thich Thien Nhon, Chairman of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at Minh Dao Pagoda (District 3). The President acknowledged that since its establishment, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has gone through more than 40 years of construction and development, becoming a unified and strong common home of Vietnamese Buddhism both at home and abroad. The dignitaries, monks, nuns and a large number of Buddhists have carried out many activities to benefit religion and life, contributing to the development of the country with the motto "Dharma - Nation - Socialism".

*On the same day, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President - General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front visited the Office II of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Most Venerable Thich Thien Phap, Permanent Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha at Quang Duc Zen Monastery (District 3) and Tinh Do Lay Buddhist Association (Hung Minh Tu Pagoda, District 6). Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ha acknowledged that the Buddhist Sangha has always been an active member of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, making many practical and effective contributions to patriotic emulation movements, campaigns to build new rural areas, protect the environment, respond to climate change, social security activities, humanitarian charity, etc.
