In the process of digital transformation, the Vietnamese healthcare industry is lacking in systematic training programs and documents on information technology, forcing the workforce implementing the implementation at medical facilities to mostly have to proactively learn and accumulate experience. The problem is how to quickly develop professional healthcare information technology human resources to meet the industry's digital transformation requirements - an extremely urgent issue.
The publication by The Gioi Publishing House and Alpha Books of the pair of books on healthcare information technology “Health Information System” (translated by Bao Ngoc – Phi Yen) and “Information Technology Management in Healthcare – Strategy, Vision and Skills” (translated by Hoai Son) by MedInsights in collaboration with the Institute for Quality Assessment and Human Resources Development in Healthcare (Hardi) is a timely “assistant” for healthcare facilities in carrying out this task.

The book “Health Information Systems” by authors John P.Glaser, Karen A.Wager and Frances W.Lee provides a comprehensive knowledge base on health information system management and implementation, from theory to practice. The book was first published 20 years ago and has been reprinted five times and copyrighted in many countries around the world.
The book covers the fundamental concepts of electronic health records (EHRs) and the development of healthcare information systems, delves into management issues such as technology strategic planning, system procurement and implementation, as well as specialized topics including data governance, privacy - security and emerging technologies.
What is special is that this book provides many international case studies and additional resources are included, such as project profiles, forms related to activities in the field of health information technology. Thanks to that, the book becomes an "indispensable" reference, a comprehensive, intuitive guide to help Vietnamese health units learn from international experiences to design and deploy modern, effective and sustainable health information systems.
The book “Managing Information Technology in Healthcare – Strategy, Vision and Skills” by author Susan T.Snedaker – a healthcare information technology leader and manager with over 15 years of experience in the US – focuses on the aspects of management and operation of healthcare information technology projects .
This is a practical handbook for healthcare IT managers that includes not only technical guidance but also emphasizes leadership, management, and strategic direction in a digital environment.

The book's content provides methodological frameworks, tools, techniques and practical examples to help the board of directors, leaders of hospital departments and technical departments understand and implement healthcare information technology strategies in conjunction with organizational strategies; create practical value for patients and the system; communicate and influence effectively; manage risks and information security; apply "lean and innovative" to improve operational efficiency. These very specific guidelines are the key to supporting Vietnamese hospitals to "reach the finish line" of digital transformation according to the set goals .
According to the leaders of publishing and distribution units, with the support of knowledge from the book series and the determination of the leadership and technical team, the application of information technology into hospital operations will become better and better, creating the premise for a smart healthcare system to develop strongly in the future.
