Nearly 3,300 smuggled confectionery products discovered in Da Nang

DNO - On August 29, the Market Management Department of Da Nang City announced that it had just discovered and temporarily seized nearly 3,300 smuggled confectionery products in Lien Chieu district.

Previously, in the process of implementing professional measures to inspect and control the market during the Mid-Autumn Festival 2024, Market Management Team No. 2 (Market Management Department) discovered that a business establishment in Lien Chieu district showed signs of violating the law in confectionery business activities.

At the time of inspection, the market management force discovered 3,263 products of various types of pre-packaged confectionery, contained in 107 boxes of goods manufactured abroad, without invoices or documents proving the legality of the goods, being smuggled goods. The total value of the exhibits was 38.89 million VND.

The inspection team drew up a record of administrative violations regarding the act of trading in smuggled goods, temporarily seized all the violated exhibits, completed the case file and handled it according to the law with a fine of 37.5 million VND.

In the coming time, the market management force will continue to step up the fight against smuggling and trading of goods of unknown origin for food, confectionery... especially before the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival.

At the same time, grasp the situation of production and trading of goods in the area; promptly detect, inspect and strictly handle violations; increase the effectiveness in the fight against smuggling, goods of unknown origin, counterfeit goods and trade fraud in the city.
