Immediately after the discovery, the people reported it to the authorities. Upon receiving the news, Cua Tung Border Guard Station deployed forces to the scene to coordinate with the Commune Police and village authorities to protect the scene.
Initial information determined that the aquaculture raft was circular, 40m in diameter, divided into two parts including the upper and lower rims. The upper rim had a diameter of 13cm, made of yellow plastic; the lower rim consisted of two 35cm diameter plastic pipes connected together, the distance between the two pipes was 1m, made of black plastic. The distance between the two rims was 75cm, connected by yellow plastic pillars with a diameter of 13cm. The raft was discovered in a dented state, some pillars connecting the two rims were damaged; there was no anchor system and farming net.

After discovering the discovery, Cua Tung Border Guard Station reported to superiors and coordinated with the Commune Police and local authorities to make a record of the handover to Tan Mach village for management and preservation.
