Discovery of extremely rare Fansipan spruce population

The Fansipan spruce population – an extremely precious endemic plant species – has just been discovered in Bat Xat, opening up opportunities for research and conservation of the Northwest mountainous forests.

The Fansipan spruce population was discovered in sub-area 120, Muong Hum commune (former Bat Xat district), located at an altitude of about 2,800 meters, in an old forest with an area of about 100 hectares. Photo: Lao Cai Newspaper.
