Strange ship discovered containing large amount of goods of unknown origin

Officers of Linh Huynh Border Guard Station transferred goods from a strange ship to shore for inspection.

Previously, at 4:00 p.m. on May 9, while patrolling and controlling the area under their responsibility, the working group of Linh Huynh Border Post under Kien Giang Border Guard discovered a transport ship with license plate KG 57905 at the coastal section of culvert 283, group 2, Cay Chom hamlet, Linh Huynh commune, Hon Dat district (Kien Giang).

Noticing many suspicious features, the task force approached the ship to inspect but there was no one on board. Inside the vehicle were many styrofoam boxes, cardboard boxes, and sacks.

The working group invited Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem - a resident of Group 2, Cay Chom Hamlet and Mr. To Van Thanh, a police officer of Cay Chom Hamlet, Linh Huynh Commune, to come as witnesses for the working group to check the vehicle and goods.

Due to the large quantity of goods, the working group reported to the unit commander. The Kien Giang Border Guard Command directed the vehicle to be brought to the Linh Huynh Border Control Station; assigned professional officers to coordinate with the Linh Huynh Border Guard Station to handle the incident.

The Commander of the Kien Giang Border Guard Command was also present at the scene and gave the working group a bonus of 5 million VND.

Preliminary inventory of goods on board temporarily determined that there were more than 300 computers, more than 100 air conditioners, electric fans, more than 100 bags of cakes and candies, more than 30 bicycles, more than 50 printers and disc players...

Kien Giang Border Guard forces are taking necessary steps to handle the case according to the law.
