Implementing many key projects

From 2020 to now, many national key traffic projects have been implemented in the province, including many important projects that have been completed and put into use, expanding development space. In March 2023, the Nha Trang - Cam Lam expressway project came into operation; by April 2024, the Cam Lam - Vinh Hao expressway project was also completed and put into use, officially connecting the expressway from Ho Chi Minh City - Nha Trang, shortening the travel time between the two cities from 8 hours to 5 hours. In April 2025, the Van Phong - Nha Trang expressway project completed and put into operation more than 70km of the final section of the route, and is expected to complete the remaining 12km in June this year.

In addition, the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot Expressway Project was started on June 30, 2023, expected to be completed and put into operation in 2027. The project to renovate and upgrade the remaining sections of National Highway 26 that have not been invested in in Khanh Hoa province is being implemented by Project Management Board 5 ( Ministry of Transport ), expected to be completed in 2025. The project of the Traffic Road from National Highway 27C to Provincial Road DT.656 of Khanh Hoa province - connecting with Lam Dong province and Ninh Thuan province is also being implemented by the Management Board of the Project for Investment in Construction of Agricultural and Transport Works of the province, expected to be completed in 2027. For the Inter-regional Traffic Road Project of Dien Khanh district, the investor has completed the procedures and is preparing to carry out site clearance work. The coastal road project from Van Luong commune, Van Ninh district to Ninh Hoa town is also being built by the Van Phong Economic Zone Management Board, expected to be completed in 2027...

Mr. Chu Van An - Deputy Director of the Department of Construction said that in recent years, the province has made efforts to promote the development of transport infrastructure to create momentum to promote local socio -economic development. From now until 2027, the province has been allocated about 20,000 billion VND to invest in roads, complete interconnection, inter-regional connections to create a synchronous transport system, connecting roads with railways, airways... It can be said that transport infrastructure is the driving force to attract investors, ensure national defense and security, ensure economic development and create conditions for people to travel conveniently and safely.

Launch pad for development

Khanh Hoa has a particularly favorable geographical location, being the gateway for trade from the Central Highlands to the East Sea, located on the North-South traffic axis by road, rail, air and sea; owning 3 large bays including Van Phong, Nha Trang and Cam Ranh, creating potential for diverse development of transportation and logistics services. According to the leader of the Department of Construction, from now until 2030, the province will focus on investing and completing the transport network in the province according to the Khanh Hoa Provincial Planning for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050 and national sectoral planning on roads, railways, airways, seaports, inland waterways, creating a complete, synchronous, modern transport network, capable of conveniently connecting modes of transport, enhancing connections with neighboring localities, major economic centers, creating momentum for socio-economic development. Currently, the province is coordinating with the Ministry of Construction to accelerate the implementation of expressway projects in the province along the North-South and East-West axes. In the period of 2025 - 2030, it is expected that there will be more national key traffic projects in the province such as: Nha Trang - Da Lat Expressway Project; Cam Ranh International Airport Upgrade and Expansion Project, calling for investment in Van Phong Airport Project, upgrading and expanding seaports according to the plan. At the same time, investing in key traffic projects, upgrading and expanding existing routes, and building new inter-regional connecting traffic routes.

Mr. Chu Van An said that with synchronous investment in transport infrastructure, the province expects to strongly attract non-budgetary investment into the locality. Key transport infrastructure projects not only help connect trade but also create favorable conditions for businesses and attract strategic investors. The province identifies transport infrastructure development as one of the important breakthroughs to promote economic development, while creating an important premise for Khanh Hoa to become a centrally-run city by 2030 according to Resolution No. 09 of the Politburo on building and developing Khanh Hoa province by 2030, with a vision to 2045. To achieve the above goal, the province will continue to call for investment in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), mobilize ODA capital and other legal resources for transport infrastructure projects. The province will also step up to improve the investment environment, enhance competitiveness, shorten the appraisal process, and approve investment projects so that investors can feel secure in production and business in the locality. With strong investment in transport infrastructure, the province hopes to create an important launching pad for the locality to take off, realizing the goal of becoming a centrally-governed city, a driving force for development in the region and the whole country.
