Develop Vinh Phong to be rich, civilized, with prosperous and happy people

On August 19 and 20, Vinh Phong commune held the 1st Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term. On this occasion, Party Secretary Nguyen Chi Thanh (photo) had an interview with reporters from An Giang Newspaper and Radio - Television about the outstanding results in the past term and the development orientation of the commune in the next 5 years.

- Reporter: In the 2020 - 2025 term, what outstanding results did Vinh Phong commune achieve, comrade?

- Comrade Nguyen Chi Thanh: During the past term, the Party Committee, the government and the people in the commune have united, joined hands and overcome all difficulties and challenges; successfully implemented most of the targets and tasks set out in the resolution. Notably, the total production value of some key industries (compared to 2010 prices) reached more than 12,937 billion VND, of which agriculture and aquaculture reached more than 9,380 billion VND; industry and construction reached more than 3,556 billion VND. The average income per capita by 2025 will reach 70 million VND/person; the material and spiritual life of the people will be constantly improved.

Vinh Phong commune has successfully restructured the agricultural sector, converting the structure of crops, livestock, and seasons to suit each locality. Socio -economic infrastructure has been invested and upgraded synchronously towards standardization, meeting the requirements of production development, improving living standards, and building new rural areas.

The cultural and social fields have many positive changes, social security is ensured; the environmental landscape is increasingly bright, green, clean and beautiful. The commune completes its local defense and military tasks; maintains political security, order and social safety...

- Reporter: In the new term 2025 - 2030, what goals, breakthroughs and key tasks will the Commune Party Committee focus on implementing?

- Comrade Nguyen Chi Thanh: For the 2025 - 2030 term, the Party Executive Committee of the commune sets out the common goal of strengthening solidarity, promoting democracy, and upholding discipline; quickly stabilizing the organization and cadre apparatus; improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party Committee; improving the management and operation effectiveness of the government; promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations; mobilizing maximum resources for rapid and sustainable development; ensuring national defense and security; stabilizing politics and society; promoting digital transformation; building digital government, digital economy, digital society; bringing Vinh Phong to develop richly, civilizedly, and people to have a prosperous and happy life.

To realize the above goal, the commune has identified 3 breakthroughs, specifically: (1) Arranging and perfecting the organization of the political system at all levels towards streamlining, effective and efficient operation; effectively applying science, technology, digital government and digital economy. Implementing strong decentralization and delegation, associated with the model of "multi-center commune". (2) Shifting the economic structure towards services; developing high-tech organic agriculture; digital transformation in production, management and product consumption; developing intercropping aquaculture models in a circular and flexible manner according to the season. (3) Effectively exploiting key traffic projects; developing service and transportation industries and professions; creating a premise for exploiting historical revolutionary relics, landscapes, services and unique products to serve tourists in the U Minh Thuong region and vicinity.

Along with that, 4 key tasks were set out including: (1) Strengthening Party building work; improving the leadership capacity and fighting strength of grassroots party organizations. Perfecting the apparatus after the merger, ensuring stable, effective, close-to-the-people and for-the-people operations. Arranging and assigning cadres and civil servants to suitable job positions; enhancing the responsibility of leaders; stepping up inspection and supervision; strengthening mass mobilization, creating consensus among the people. (2) Developing agricultural economy associated with restructuring and value chains. Maintaining sustainable rice-shrimp models, growing safe biological crops, adapting to climate change. Developing cooperative economy, new-style cooperatives. Applying science, technology and digital transformation in production and product consumption. Maintaining communes that meet new rural standards, associated with environmental protection and sustainable development. Investing in synchronous infrastructure, focusing on balanced development between regions, prioritizing inter-regional transport and administrative centers. (3) Comprehensively develop culture and society; improve people's quality of life. Take care of people's health, especially the poor and policy beneficiaries. Develop culture, education and healthcare to meet standards. Preserve and promote traditional cultural values to be ready to enter a new era of development.

The remaining key tasks are to ensure national defense and security, maintain social order and safety. Proactively grasp the situation, avoid being passive or surprised. Build a solid national defense and people's security posture; promote the role of the militia and self-defense force, and the communal police; strengthen the prevention and control of crimes and social evils.
