Khanh Hoa: People catch 2m long python in residential area

On October 17, the leader of Nha Trang Tourist Wharf (Khanh Hoa province) said that people had just caught a python outside the wharf.

Specifically, at noon the same day, some drivers discovered a python about 2 meters long lying on a tree on the sidewalk, close to the parking lot of the wharf, Nam Nha Trang ward.

Immediately afterwards, the leaders of Nha Trang Tourist Wharf reported to the Nha Trang - Dien Khanh Forest Protection Department, and were instructed to promptly inform the Commune People's Committee to receive the information.

Afterwards, the wharf was informed by the People's Committee of Nam Nha Trang ward that it did not have the expertise to receive and care for endangered, precious, and rare animals.

At around 4:30 p.m. the same day, a group of people nearby used sticks and nooses to catch and carry the python away. Many people suspected that this was a python species listed in the Red Book. However, the authorities have not yet determined the origin of the python.

Currently, local authorities are mobilizing people to hand over the above python.
