The film "50 Flashes" was released on the official online channels (Facebook and Youtube) of Ho Chi Minh City Tourism on April 21 and quickly received the attention and love of domestic and international viewers.
The event marks the first time the tourism industry of a city in Vietnam has produced a film promoting tourism in cinematic style, combining elements of adventure, mystery, thrill and fantasy.
The film revolves around the main character, a foreign tourist who comes to Ho Chi Minh City, enters an antique shop and is given an antique camera that once belonged to a wartime reporter. Accidentally touching the camera's shutter button, he is drawn into a magical journey through space and time, passing through many iconic locations of the city.

With the combination of fantasy, adventure, risk and emotional depth, each destination appears not only as a beautiful scene, but also as a part of the living soul of the city - a place that preserves the story, identity and spirit of the city named after Uncle Ho through each cinematic frame.

After more than 1 day of release on digital platforms, the film has attracted nearly 100,000 views and nearly 35,000 accesses. The number 50 in "50 Flashes" contains many profound meanings. That is 50 years since the Great Spring Victory of 1975, 50 moments - 50 shots are 50 cultural and tourism symbols of Ho Chi Minh City.
The message the film wants to convey is that no matter who you are or where you come from, you can find your own story, emotion, and beat that blends into the vibrant atmosphere of this city.

The film crew chose to film at iconic tourist locations of the city such as the Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site, Can Gio Mangrove Forest, Ho Chi Minh City Post Office , Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts - buildings that preserve the historical memories of the city, or at Ben Thanh Market, Bui Vien Street... carrying the breath, modern beat and vitality of a city rich in cultural colors; along with the application of modern techniques and technology to recreate the scene of Ben Nha Rong on the day Uncle Ho left to find a way to save the country in a realistic way, touching the emotions and hearts of the audience.
Hearing the project introduction, I immediately nodded in agreement, because this is a film to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and promote tourism in Ho Chi Minh City. I am a son of Ho Chi Minh City, I am very happy to do this because I have a responsibility to the city where I live and grew up.

To create "50 Flashes", a team of many talented artists was assembled, from ideas, scripts, images, acting, post-production - each with their own strengths, but sharing the same mission of telling the story of beloved Ho Chi Minh City in the most vivid and authentic way.
The cast includes veteran actors such as Meritorious Artist Huu Chau, Meritorious Artist Tran Tuan Lin, and a young German actor with the Vietnamese name Dai Oi, creating a connection between Vietnam and the world.

The scriptwriter and production director is director Le Hai Yen, who was behind the success of the Ho Chi Minh City River Festival 2023 and 2024.
She said: "50 Flashes is not just a film, but a journey, where each frame is a story, each scene is a part of the soul of the city. There are stories brought to the screen for the first time, places and events that were previously only mentioned in books and newspapers.
In the film, the audience will see a Ho Chi Minh City with many identities and colors, with countless interesting things to be proud of. As for international visitors, I believe they will want to come and discover for themselves the special experiences that our main character has gone through, to feel more clearly the constant movement of this city .

Regarding the visuals, director of photography, Meritorious Artist Nguyen K'Linh brought to "50 Flashes" a brilliant yet profound Ho Chi Minh City.
He shared when accepting to start filming the project "50 Flashes": "I find this an interesting film with a strange style, moving through many different historical spaces and times, and there are not many projects like this. I think Vietnamese tourism deserves to develop better. Vietnam has many beautiful landscapes, people and beautiful life. These things should be spread not only to foreign tourists, but Vietnamese tourists will also have a different perspective."
With a unique and pioneering combination of cinema, music, art and technology, the film is expected to inspire pride in every citizen of the city, while inspiring domestic and foreign tourists to embark on a journey to discover a new, vibrant and fascinating Ho Chi Minh City.
