Tran Thanh's movie 'Mrs. Nu's House' earned over 23 billion VND on the first day of Tet

The movie Mrs. Nu's House , directed and written by Tran Thanh , will be released on January 22, 2023, the first day of the Lunar New Year. On the first day of its release, the film received enthusiastic support from the audience, setting a box office record.

According to Box Office Vietnam - an independent box office survey unit, on the first day, Mrs. Nu's House earned more than 23 billion VND. On average, every 32-35 minutes, the film earned 1 billion. This number broke the previous record of the film Bo Gia .

In 2021, the movie Bo Gia created a box office fever in Vietnam. In cinemas nationwide, the film was sought after, even opening more screenings because of the large number of audiences. This family-themed work was also invested by Tran Thanh, who co-directed and played the main role with Tuan Tran.

Similarly, during this year’s Tet holiday, Tran Thanh broke his own record when he produced his second film to dominate the box office. With 220,000 tickets sold and over VND23 billion earned, the film Mrs. Nu’s House became the highest-grossing Vietnamese film of all time on the first day of Tet.

Previously, the film also set a record, becoming the Vietnamese film with the highest number of pre-ordered tickets of all time. With more than 30,000 pre-ordered tickets, the film is the most sought-after film during this year's Tet holiday.

Mrs. Nu's House is a psychological and emotional film about family. The film revolves around everyday stories in the life of Mrs. Nu's family. In addition to family affection and love, the film also conveys many meaningful messages about life and social relationships.

The main cast of the film includes Tran Thanh, Uyen An (Tran Thanh's younger sister), Song Luan, Le Giang, People's Artist Ngoc Giau, Kha Nhu,... These artists received many positive responses from the audience after the first screenings. Currently, the film is showing in all cinemas nationwide. After the release, the audience mostly appreciated the way the story was built, the details in the film and the acting of the cast.
