What makes The Original Superstar different from other musical biopics is that the crew decided to use CGI to recreate the main character in the form of a chimpanzee. This character represents Robbie Williams himself - one of the most famous pop stars in the UK.

According to director Michael Gracey, the image of the chimpanzee is a metaphor for the primitive instincts, wildness and psychological damage that fame and pressure from the entertainment industry bring to superstars at the top.
The film marks the return of director Michael Gracey - who made a global splash with the musical The Greatest Showman .
To bring realistic images to the audience, the film's special visual effects were performed by the Wētā FX team - the studio behind the success of the Planet of the Apes series .

Therefore, the film's special effects are one of the most outstanding highlights. With thousands of micro-expressions and complex body movements, the image of Robbie Williams under the CGI layer becomes vivid, expressive and realistic.
Thanks to this excellent special effects, the film was nominated for Best Visual Effects at the 2025 Oscars, and created a wave of strong debate at international film festivals from Telluride, Toronto to Cannes.
As a musical biographical film, the soundtrack is also a highlight that brings many emotions to the audience.

The music for the original Superstar was composed by Robbie Williams himself and the talented composer Batu Sener. The film takes the audience through Robbie's career hits and new songs composed for the film, creating an emotional symphony that is both nostalgic and intense.
Many songs associated with Robbie's name were included in the movie such as: She's the One, Angels, Let Me Entertain You, Feel, I Found Heaven, Rock D, Relight My Fire, Better Man ...
The Better Man soundtrack was released on 27 December 2024. On 3 January 2025, the album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Downloads Chart and number four on the UK Soundtrack Albums Chart. After being released in physical form, the album topped the UK Albums Chart, marking Williams' 15th number one album, tying him with The Beatles for the most number one albums.

After international screenings, the film received many compliments from experts. Screen International rated it: "A bold and haunting cinematic symphony about identity, loneliness and the weight of fame." Rotten Tomatoes also recorded a positive rating of up to 88% from international audiences. Metacritic rated the film 77/100 points while audiences on PostTrak gave the film 83% positive scores.
In Vietnam, the film officially opens in theaters nationwide from July 11.
