Speaking at the conference, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Duong Ngoc Hai said that July 1 marked a memorable historical milestone, closing the 22-year journey of formation and development of Binh Tan district; establishing 5 new wards including: Binh Tan, Binh Hung Hoa, Tan Tao, Binh Tri Dong and An Lac.
The July 1 milestone marks the beginning of a new development phase, a higher level of urban governance, public services and the requirements and quality of service to the people. The Standing Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee noted that it is necessary to set the development orientation of the 5 wards and the entire Binh Tan area within the overall development strategy of Ho Chi Minh City, seize opportunities, take advantage of the opportunity, the strong decentralization and authorization of the city to enhance autonomy, creativity, and promote internal strength in performing tasks.
In particular, the priority is to improve the quality of people's lives in the goal of economic and social growth and development of the 5 wards. Taking people as the center, people are both the target, the subject, the driving force, and the beneficiaries of the development results. At the same time, focus on developing healthcare, education, training, developing cultural and social institutions; effectively implementing social housing projects in the area, meeting the living needs of the people.
Along with that, continue to promote administrative reform, apply information technology, digital transformation in a substantial and effective manner, build a professional administration; strengthen connectivity, synchronize data to perform public services more effectively, smoothly, with quality, serve people and businesses in the best, most effective, public and transparent way.
On this occasion, the President decided to award the Third Class Labor Medal to 2 collectives and 5 individuals; the Prime Minister decided to award the Government's Emulation Flag to the people and officials of Binh Tan district; 6 individuals received Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister.
Looking back on the 22-year journey of establishment and development of Binh Tan district, the Party Committee and people of Binh Tan district have inherited the revolutionary tradition of Binh Chanh - the heroic, united, dynamic, creative Binh Tan district and promoted its internal strength well.
Binh Tan District has made remarkable progress in development, is a place with great potential, and has soon become a young, promising urban area of a dynamic, comprehensive, modern and affectionate urban area.
The district plays an important and strategic role in urban development in the west of the city, and is a locality that actively contributes to socio-economic growth, ensuring social security, political stability and sustainable development in Ho Chi Minh City.
