BHG - On the afternoon of September 18, the delegation of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group led by comrade Tran Cong Kha, member of the Central Enterprise Party Committee, Party Secretary, Chairman of the Board of Directors (BOD) of the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group, had a working session with the provincial leaders, informed about the operation of the Group, of Ha Giang Rubber Joint Stock Company and provided support to the people of Ha Giang province affected by storm No. 3.

Attending and working with the delegation were comrades: Thao Hong Son, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Vang Seo Con, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Hoang Gia Long, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee Office and a number of departments and branches.

At the meeting, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Thao Hong Son and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Hoang Gia Long provided an overview of the situation, characteristics of the province's geographical location, the current socio-economic development process and the development of rubber trees in the area. At the same time, information was provided on the damage caused by natural disasters in the province from the beginning of 2024 to present; in which, natural disasters have caused heavy damage to people, infrastructure, houses, and property of the State and people in the whole province. Specifically, 30 people died, 20 people were injured; 10,651 houses were damaged and many infrastructure works, schools, and roads were damaged, with an estimated total damage of over 1,424 billion VND. Regarding the impact of storm No. 3, thanks to good propaganda and evacuation work, human damage was limited, with only 1 dead, 1 missing and 1 injured.

Regarding rubber tree development, up to now, the total rubber tree area in the province is over 1,514 hectares, the area for tapping is over 1,087 hectares. From the beginning of 2024 to now, the rubber latex harvest output has reached 440 tons, estimated to consume over 325 tons by the end of September, with revenue reaching over 12.7 billion VND. In the coming time, Ha Giang province and the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group will continue to have appropriate solutions for rubber tree care and exploitation; disseminate to people about their rights and obligations when participating in contributing land use rights; conduct measurements and issue land use right certificates as a legal basis for signing land contribution contracts for rubber tree planting. Ha Giang province proposed that the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group consider and study the construction of a rubber latex processing factory in the province to reduce costs in the production and processing process.

Discussing the operational situation, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Vietnam Rubber Industry Group Tran Cong Kha said: The Group will continue to pay attention to increasing income for rubber growers and supporting job creation for workers in Ha Giang province. Sharing with Ha Giang province about the heavy damage caused by storm No. 3, in the spirit of solidarity and mutual love, Vietnam Rubber Industry Group has allocated a support fund of 200 million VND for the province.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Thao Hong Son thanked the Vietnam Rubber Industry Group for its concern, sharing and support for the province in the face of damage caused by natural disasters. He hoped that the Group would continue to develop strongly and that the cooperation between the Group and Ha Giang would have new developments, especially in terms of job creation and income generation for workers.
