Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien inspected the progress of the Song Lien 2 Hydropower project.

On the afternoon of August 21, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien inspected the actual progress of the Song Lien 2 Hydropower Project. Accompanying him were representatives of the Departments of Industry and Trade, Construction, Finance, Agriculture and Environment; and leaders of relevant localities.

Song Lien 2 Hydropower Project is built on Lien River in Ba To and Ba To communes, invested by Ba To Power Joint Stock Company, including 2 units, with a total capacity of 12MW, total investment of nearly 500 billion VND.

Main dam category

The project started construction in July 2023, and to date, many main items have been completed, such as: left shoulder dam, water intake gate, sand discharge sluice combined with flood discharge. Taking advantage of favorable weather, the Investor is currently focusing on constructing the right shoulder dam, piano spillway, factory, water tunnel, hydromechanical equipment, etc. According to the plan, the project will be completed, storing water and generating electricity in 2026.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee discussed with the Investor about the project implementation plan in the coming time.

Through on-site inspection and working with Ba To Power Joint Stock Company, relevant agencies and units, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phuoc Hien acknowledged the efforts and determination of the Investor to complete the project according to the committed schedule. In particular, it is noted that in the coming time, in addition to speeding up the construction progress to complete the remaining main items of the project, the Investor needs to focus on completing land procedures and investment procedures for building the project's connection lines according to the approved planning and design documents to ensure commercial operation after construction is completed; proactively develop plans to prevent and combat natural disasters, ensure labor safety, construction works, machinery and equipment during the rainy and stormy season.

As the project is being implemented in an area with many difficulties, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee directed relevant departments, branches and localities to continue to guide, support and resolve existing problems and related difficulties within their authority to create favorable conditions for the Investor to soon complete the project, connect to the national grid, and contribute to promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.
