
Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son speaks
On the occasion of attending the 8th Russian Energy Week Forum, on the evening of October 14 (local time), Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son visited and had a friendly talk with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in the Russian Federation.
Reporting at the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi said that Vietnam-Russia relations have made great strides in recent years, with increased political trust and more practical and effective economic and trade cooperation. The Russian side affirmed that it attaches importance to its relations with Vietnam.
The number of Russian tourists traveling to Vietnam has reached approximately the same level as in 2019, while the number of Vietnamese tourists traveling to Russia is increasing. Currently, there are an average of 100 direct flights/week between Russian localities and Vietnam.

Embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Russia attended the meeting.
The Vietnamese community in Russia has about 80,000 people, always looking towards the homeland. During the recent storm and flood, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation and the people donated and sent back to the country 660 million VND to support compatriots affected by storms and floods.
Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the Government leaders, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son sent his warm regards and best wishes to the staff, employees, and workers of the Embassy and the Vietnamese community in Russia.
Regarding the domestic situation, Deputy Prime Minister Bui Thanh Son emphasized that the country is carefully preparing to enter a new era, in which the Party Central Committee and the Politburo have and will continue to issue resolutions to create breakthroughs in development in key areas such as science, technology, innovation, digital transformation; international integration in the new situation; building and perfecting institutions; developing the private economy; ensuring energy security; developing education and training...
The work of organizing party congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress is being carried out under the motto that each agency and unit must clearly define goals, tasks, and solutions to contribute to the whole country entering a new era of high and sustainable growth.
Regarding Vietnam-Russia relations, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the efforts of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Russian Federation in strongly promoting the bilateral relations in recent times; emphasized the need for a new approach to bring bilateral relations as expected and desired by the leaders and people of the two countries.

Deputy Prime Minister presented the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to the Embassy of Vietnam in the Russian Federation for its outstanding achievements in consolidating and strengthening the Vietnam - Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2024.
In particular, the two sides need to strive to increase bilateral trade turnover to over 10 billion USD/year; strengthen cooperation in education and training, especially in the fields of science, technology, innovation, creativity, basic science, nuclear energy, etc.; promote people-to-people exchange; and promote information about Vietnam and its people to Russia and information about Russia and its people to Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized.
