- On October 8, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc and a working delegation inspected flood response and recovery work in the province.

Working with the delegation were comrades: Hoang Van Nghiem, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation; Doan Thi Hau, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Canh Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches.

According to a quick report at the inspection, due to the impact of storm No. 11 (storm MATMO), the province experienced moderate to heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain. Heavy rain caused damage to many properties in the province.



Specifically, in the province, 2 people were injured; over 3,000 households were affected by collapsed houses, landslides, and flooding. In particular, communes with large-scale flooding include: Yen Binh, Van Nham, Huu Lung, Tuan Son, Cai Kinh, That Khe, Trang Dinh, Quoc Viet...

Along with that, in the province, more than 1,000 hectares of crops were flooded, 80 hectares of fruit trees and 4 hectares of forest fell; 9 educational facilities were affected; 153 traffic points were eroded and flooded; many bridges, tunnels and roads were partially flooded, landslides of over 20,000 m3; many communes lost power and telecommunication networks; a dam broke at Bac Khe 1 Hydroelectric Dam, Tan Tien commune...

At the inspection, the provincial leaders reported on the work of preventing, responding to and overcoming the consequences of storm No. 11. At the same time, they proposed a number of solutions to speed up the progress of overcoming floods and rains to minimize human and property damage.

Speaking at the inspection session, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts and proactiveness of Lang Son province in responding to and overcoming storm No. 11.
Currently, some areas in the province are still flooded and isolated. The Deputy Prime Minister requested the province to continue to urgently and synchronously deploy measures to ensure people's safety; continue to support the evacuation of people to safe places, protect people's property; continue to provide food, foodstuffs, and essential necessities for people.
Along with that, the province quickly deployed to overcome traffic and infrastructure problems after the flood so that people could stabilize their lives and restore production and business activities. The government will decide to temporarily support funding for the province to overcome the consequences of the flood, and in the long term, it will continue to support resources and invest in equipment to better serve the work of preventing and fighting storms and floods...
During the inspection program, the working delegation of Deputy Prime Minister Ho Duc Phoc visited, encouraged and gave gifts to people affected by floods in Huu Lung commune.
