Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh congratulated the Buddhist Sangha on hosting the 2025 United Nations Vesak Celebration in Ho Chi Minh City , which after 2 days left good impressions on its scale and a series of rich and widespread events.
The Deputy Prime Minister also discussed with the Supreme Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha Thich Tri Quang about the organization of monks, nuns, and Buddhists to pay homage to the relics of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc as well as to worship him later.
Most Venerable Thich Tri Quang expressed his gratitude to the state leaders for approving the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha to invite the Bodhisattva's heart relics to be permanently enshrined at Da Bao Tower - a monument commemorating the 1963 Dharma Persecution in the grounds of Viet Nam Quoc Tu.

The Supreme Patriarch and Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh also discussed and shared a number of issues related to Buddhism with tradition and the times, in philosophy as well as practice.
On this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Mai Van Chinh, his wife, and leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front and Ho Chi Minh City visited the Bodhisattva relics enshrined at the Vietnam National Pagoda Hall and listened to the historical story of Bodhisattva Thich Quang Duc who burned himself to death on June 11, 1963, leaving behind an immortal heart relic.
