Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh: Da Nang Free Trade Zone is the first but must be sure to win

On the morning of June 22 in Da Nang, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's decision to establish the Da Nang Free Trade Zone - the first free trade model in Vietnam.

The event aims to widely inform the public and partners about the basic contents of Da Nang Free Trade Zone.

The first free trade zone in Vietnam

Attending the event were Politburo member, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Duc Hai; leaders of central agencies, ministries and nearly 500 delegates, diplomatic agencies, partners, banks...

On June 13, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 1142 on the establishment of Da Nang City Free Trade Zone.

Accordingly, Da Nang Free Trade Zone has 7 locations and selects strategic investors, attracting secondary investors according to a specific roadmap and implementation plan.

At the same time, there are functional areas: production, logistics; trade - services; digital technology industry, innovation and other types of functional areas according to the provisions of law.

The Da Nang Free Trade Zone is developed in conjunction with the International Financial Center to turn Da Nang into a high-quality service center, creating a driving force to spread to the Central - Central Highlands region and the whole country; becoming an important link connecting the East - West economic corridor, the Asia - Pacific region and the world.

Da Nang receives special attention

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh congratulated Da Nang on this launching event. The Central Government and the Government have paid special attention to Da Nang by issuing many outstanding policies.

According to Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, the implementation of the Da Nang Free Trade Zone was based on the ideas and proposals of the city itself.

In addition, the Central Government also allows Da Nang to implement many new economic initiatives such as deep-water ports, financial centers, etc. With these big steps, Da Nang will develop and spread to other regions in the future.

"I hope that the Da Nang Free Trade Zone will be large-scale, smart, green, and digital. Even though it is the first free trade zone, it will certainly be victorious, successful, and draw many lessons for the future," said Mr. Binh.

According to Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee Le Trung Chinh, Da Nang will create the most favorable conditions for investors.

Recently, Da Nang has proactively reviewed and developed a plan with a series of tasks that need to be implemented to put the Da Nang Free Trade Zone into operation soon.

Da Nang also studies and proposes to expand potential new locations, develop and exploit sea space reasonably to expand the boundary of Da Nang City Free Trade Zone after merging with Quang Nam province.

Sun Group invests in 3 out of 7 locations in Da Nang Free Trade Zone

At the launching ceremony of Da Nang Free Trade Zone, the organizers said that Sun Group Corporation is a major investor, developing 3 out of 7 locations in Da Nang Free Trade Zone.

Sun Group is implementing the project "Investing in construction and business of infrastructure of functional areas at locations 5, 6 and 7" with a total scale of about 645 hectares.

At the locations: Location 5 (90ha, Hoa Ninh commune, Hoa Vang district) and location 6 (154ha, Hoa Nhon and Hoa Ninh communes, Hoa Vang district) are oriented to develop into high-quality commercial - service and resort complexes.

These two locations will develop unique resort complexes, focusing on eco-tourism, health care, and high-end resorts with villas, resorts, and high-class entertainment facilities...

Location 7 (401ha, Hoa Nhon and Hoa Phu communes, Hoa Vang district) is oriented to develop into a digital economic zone, information technology and innovation combined with trade and services, to create a scientific complex...

Great motivation for Da Nang and the whole region

In addition to the above 3 locations, Da Nang City Free Trade Zone has 4 other locations invested by investors.

Location 1 (100ha, Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district): Logistics area attached to the port has direct access to Lien Chieu port and Kim Lien railway station.

Building a modern logistics center including functions such as: distribution center, bonded warehouse, ICD port, logistics warehouse area.

Location 2 (77ha, Hoa Hiep Bac ward, Lien Chieu district): Logistics center area integrating seaport and primary processing for re-export purposes has a space closely linked to location 1 to connect to Lien Chieu port.
