It is known that this year's 10th grade entrance exam has 76,435 candidates registered, a decrease of 27,330 students compared to last year. This year, 115 public high schools in Ho Chi Minh City recruited 70,070 students for 10th grade.
Meanwhile, the entrance exam for grade 6 of Tran Dai Nghia Secondary and High School in the 2025-2026 school year had 4,851 grade 5 students in Ho Chi Minh City participating. With a target of 350 students, the competition ratio for Tran Dai Nghia School this year is 1/14.
It is known that this year is the first year that 9th grade students take the 10th grade entrance exam according to the 2018 general education program.
Grade 10 math test scores higher than last year?
According to many 10th grade exam graders in Ho Chi Minh City, this year's exam results have changed a lot compared to last year.
The most notable of these is the math exam results. "The entire city only had 36 candidates scoring 10 points in math, this number was 49 in 2024 even though last year's exam was considered difficult," a math teacher told Tuoi Tre Online .
However, the above teacher added that the number of candidates who scored 9.75, 9.25 and 9 points in math was much higher than last year. Most of the students did not achieve the maximum score because their presentation and reasoning in geometry were not solid, or there were small mistakes that led to losing points.
Another good news is that the average math score this year is higher than in 2024, with most candidates scoring 6-7 points, while last year it was 4.25 - 5.25 points.
