Among hundreds of parents at the exam site of My Dinh High School (Nam Tu Liem District, Hanoi), Nguyen Thi Hoa (37 years old, residing in My Dinh 2 Ward, Nam Tu Liem District) and her two children were waiting to congratulate Le Tung Lam (student of My Dinh 1 Secondary School) on completing the first important exam of his life.
Seeing his parents and two younger siblings waiting, Lam smiled as if to give a good news to his family. At that moment, Hoa and her husband suddenly brought out a small bag to give to their son, making the male student burst into tears.
Sharing with Thanh Nien , Ms. Hoa said that inside the bag was an iPhone 14 that she and her husband had prepared a week ago. With the desire to create a surprise for their child after stressful hours of studying, the couple discussed and gave it to their child right after completing the last exam.
"Previously, my family did not let my child use a phone, only when necessary. Before the 10th grade entrance exam, we promised him "whether he passed or failed, we will buy him a phone because he is an adult", Ms. Hoa revealed.

Ms. Hoa said that her son wanted to take the entrance exam to My Dinh High School. About a month before the exam, the family noticed the stress in their son's lifestyle, so they did not focus on his performance and only advised him to "stay calm and confident."
Notably, during the 2 days of the exam, no one in the family asked Tung Lam about the test results or answers, but only said "congratulations on completing the exam" so that Tung Lam could be most comfortable.
"If my child is stressed, we are stressed tenfold. For the past few days, the whole family has been unable to eat or sleep, unable to do anything because of being so nervous. This morning, seeing my child finish the exam in a happy mood, we feel like a burden has been lifted off our shoulders," said Ms. Hoa.
Like Tung Lam, female student Nguyen Minh Anh (a student at Doan Thi Diem Secondary School) was welcomed by her grandmother, mother, aunt and younger brother at the exam site. The moment she left the school gate, Minh Anh received flowers from her younger brother to congratulate her.

Minh Anh said that this year's 10th grade entrance exam was within her ability, and she could achieve high scores in all three subjects. In math, even though she couldn't do the last question for 0.5 points, she was still very confident about the result.
The female student revealed that she submitted her first choice to My Dinh High School, a school with a competition ratio of 1.59, ranked 26th in Hanoi, so she was quite stressed at first. However, with the encouragement of her family and friends, she entered the exam with a relaxed mentality.
"Now I will rest and wait for the results. My mother promised that if I pass the exam to My Dinh High School, she will hold a birthday party at the Marriott Hotel," Minh Anh said.
According to the report of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, the 10th grade exam took place seriously, safely, and in accordance with regulations. Specifically, the whole city has 201 exam sites with a total of 4,411 exam rooms. The total number of candidates taking the math exam was 102,423/102,860 students, reaching a rate of 99.57% (equivalent to 437 absent candidates).
Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, said that it is expected that from July 4 to July 6 at the latest, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will complete grading and announce exam scores and benchmark scores to candidates.
