To keep the Vietnamese team's identity, how many naturalized players should be limited?

So Malaysia ended the 11-year unbeaten streak of the Vietnamese football team against Malaysia, with a victory on the evening of June 11 at Bukit Jalil Stadium in the Asian Cup qualifiers thanks to a massive naturalization campaign.

Malaysia beat Vietnam football thanks to massive naturalization policy

Malaysia used 9/11 naturalized players from other continents at world -class clubs in the starting lineup on the evening of June 10 for the Asian Cup group stage. These players accepted naturalization to join the Malaysian team in the hope of being tested at the World Cup. Because they know that it is very difficult to get into their own national team.

So the attractive "parking lot" in Malaysia was waiting. Suddenly the transfer value of this team's players reached over 15 million euros, more than three times the squad of the Vietnam team.

The trend of naturalizing players for the national team has become hotter when the archipelago country of Indonesia has been naturalizing players rapidly and the results have been very positive, reaching the fourth round to open up the opportunity (albeit slim) to participate in the world football finals.

Looking at other countries like that, who wouldn't be envious? But should we or shouldn't we when the quality of domestic football (real strength) is not necessarily strong?

I have not said whether the naturalization regulations in the Nationality Law of the foreign country are easy or difficult compared to ours today. I just want to discuss the aspect of national identity in each country's team. Is it possible that a national team with most of its personnel are players from other countries? Looking at it, it looks like a miniature "united state" with all the countries with advanced football. And Malaysia has done that.

Not only is their physical strength superior to ours, but their average height is 4cm higher than ours, and their personal skills and tactical thinking are also much better, because they are often in famous clubs around the world. There are players who have participated in the C1 Cup - Champions League, so it is not surprising that their skills are much better than Vietnam's.

'Dissecting' Vietnam's defeat against Malaysia: Naturalization and what else?

Unbalanced in terms of body shape, fitness and level

The difficulty for Mr. Kim Sang-sik was that he did not have time to update the level of the Malaysian team before the match day. Therefore, he could only stand there and watch in amazement after the first half, they held out steadfastly and held the team to a goalless draw, which was actually a lucky draw, thanks to goalkeeper Nguyen Filip's excellent save that saved them from defeat.

Malaysia has 9/11 naturalized and Malaysian players on the field. We only have 2 Vietnamese players on the field, which shows the imbalance in the number of foreign players on each team.

I hope that after this failure, national football strategists should also think about finding a thorough solution for the entire national football strategy for the next few decades.

I am not allergic to extreme naturalized players like some people. I think that naturalized players should exist and overseas Vietnamese players should exist even more, this selection method should be encouraged to be included in each country's squad because only then can we show the diversity of the national team when today's world is multifaceted. It is more open than before.

Careful consideration is needed so that the true beauty of sport is not overshadowed.

However, should there be regulations similar to the current regulations on foreign players in clubs allowed to play? Only then will it be fair and satisfactory. What is the percentage of foreign players in a national team? How much it will be, I have not thought carefully so I do not dare to analyze deeply. But it will probably be at a level that should not exceed 50% of the squad.

80-90% of the players are naturalized and playing in a team like Malaysia, so it is not certain that domestic fans will be satisfied, even if they win against someone. Not to mention that this way of doing things can easily stifle domestic sports talent. They will have less opportunity to compete and improve.

Europe and America also have specific regulations right from the club level, not just their national teams. We should refer to international friends, especially countries with professional football levels. It may be similar to the Financial Balance Law between clubs in a country. The purpose is also to avoid arrogance, too much difference, too much injustice. It can all make weaker clubs more disadvantaged.

Sports competitions are to demonstrate the nobility of each nation's culture. If the way of arranging troops is only to "win or lose", to "compete" in an unequal way, then of course the nobility will be overshadowed, even eliminated. The beauty of sports can be lost because of that, which is very undesirable.
