Restoring, preserving and promoting the traditional culture of the Raglai people

In recent years, in order to effectively implement the Party and State's guidelines and policies on ethnic affairs; strengthen the Party's leadership, promote socio -economic and cultural development in ethnic minority areas, Khanh Hoa province has actively focused on implementing drastic, deep and wide ethnic policies in the area.

There are more than 72,000 ethnic minorities living in Khanh Hoa , accounting for 5.8% of the province's population. Of these, the Raglai ethnic group accounts for about 76%, the second most populous ethnic group after the Vietnamese in Khanh Hoa with more than 55,000 people, living mainly in the mountainous district of Khanh Son (with more than 70% of the district's population) and scattered in some localities in the province.

The beauty of Raglai culture is recreated on the festival stage of Khanh Son district.

Implement the Prime Minister's National Target Program on Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas for the 2021-2025 Period, including Project 6 "Preserving and promoting fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities associated with tourism development".

Up to now, Khanh Son district has invested in building cultural and sports facilities and 101 equipment in 29 villages and residential groups; supported the activities of 12 traditional art troupes in ethnic minority and mountainous villages; organized 2 training courses, fostered professional skills, taught intangible culture; restored 1 typical traditional festival (Thanksgiving to parents); built 8 community bookcases for communes in ethnic minority and mountainous areas in the district.

Through meaningful activities carried out in the past time in the district, the traditional cultural heritages of the Raglai people have been preserved, honored and promoted; the tradition of patriotism and national pride have been increasingly consolidated, the strength of the great national unity bloc has been increasingly enhanced, contributing significantly to the socio-economic development of the locality.

From now until 2030, the district will continue to strengthen the restoration, preservation and promotion of traditional cultural values of the Raglai ethnic group, specifically: Restoring typical traditional festivals of the Raglai ethnic group; annually organizing classes to teach musical instruments (Lithophone, Ma La); building a community tourism model in Hon Dung village, Son Hiep commune associated with promoting cultural values, history, customs and good practices of ethnic minorities in the district; building Khanh Son District Exhibition House to display cultural artifacts and antiques to promote local tourism products and preserve the cultural identity of the Raglai ethnic group.

Maintain the organization of musical instrument performances of Lithophone, Ma La, folk songs, traditional folk dances at community houses in villages in the district. Effectively carry out the work of preserving the intangible cultural heritage of the Raglai ethnic minority, focusing on (writing, traditional costumes, folk literature; folk performing arts, traditional festivals; traditional crafts).

At the same time, direct local Party committees and authorities to actively mobilize people to continue to preserve, conserve, and promote traditional cultural forms into community activities.
