On the afternoon of August 4, the Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee of Ha Lam Ward organized an unexpected commendation ceremony for 1 collective and 5 individuals of Ha Lam Ward Police for their outstanding achievements in the fight against drug crimes in the area.

On July 29, 2025, during the process of checking the area, Ha Lam Ward Police discovered that Nguyen Van Thuan (born in 1988, residing in group 62, Cao Thang 7 area, Ha Lam Ward) was illegally using crystal meth.

After investigation and verification, on August 1, Ha Lam Ward Police in coordination with the Drug Crime Investigation Police Department (Provincial Police) issued a decision to prosecute the case and prosecute Nguyen Van Thuan for illegal use of drugs.

This is the first case in the province to be criminally prosecuted for illegal drug use; marking a new, drastic step forward in the fight against this type of crime.
