The Da Nang City Military Command has established a forward command post to implement measures to respond to landslides.

Earlier, at around 9:30 AM on November 14th, a serious landslide occurred in the upstream area, approximately 250 meters from the local water dam and the Ga Ry Border Guard Post. A torrent of earth and rocks cascaded down from the mountaintop, burying several farmhouses and more than 200 meters of road.

Authorities have reported that three villagers working in the fields have lost contact and are suspected of being buried under the landslide. The victims are Mr. Zơ Râm Nhô, Mrs. Bríu Thị Tép, and Hốih Zi Nút, all residents of Pứt village. In addition to the loss of life, the landslide also damaged 3 motorbikes, 9 cows, and 15 hectares of farmland belonging to local residents.

Immediately after the incident occurred, the City Military Command directed the Regional Defense Command 2 – Thanh My and local forces to quickly approach the scene. More than 100 officers and soldiers, along with militia from Hung Son commune, Ga Ry Border Guard Post, commune police, and local authorities, were mobilized, using drones and other equipment to assist in search and rescue operations.

Facing the risk of further landslides, authorities organized the emergency evacuation of 84 out of 314 residents of Glao village and 87 out of 350 residents of H Jun village to safe locations.

A forward command post was established right at the scene, directly led by Lieutenant Colonel Tran Kim Tuan, Deputy Commander of the Da Nang City Military Command, who is in charge of directing search and rescue operations and assisting in the evacuation of people from the dangerous area. Currently, rescue efforts are still facing many difficulties as landslides continue.

Given the possibility of prolonged heavy rain, steep terrain, and a high risk of further landslides, the City Military Command has instructed its forces to maintain the highest level of readiness and actively search for the three missing victims with speed and absolute safety. Simultaneously, the unit will continue to coordinate closely with local authorities to assist in the evacuation of residents, protect their property, and maintain stability in the area.
