On November 10, the famous Vietnamese horror adventure game Brother Hai's Pho Restaurant was updated. As shared with Tri Thuc - Znews , Marisa0704 - the author of the game paid tribute to the League of Legends (LMHT) T1 team after their 6th world championship.
Specifically, the character “Tê Liệt boy” - a fan of the T1 team in the game has been updated with the image of 6 sparkling star lanterns behind his back. This detail is said to be the developer's way of paying tribute to the T1 team's historic 6th World Championship (WCG) at the tournament on November 9th.
T1 has successfully defended the title of World Champion. With the title just achieved, the legendary Faker (Lee Sang-hyeok) once again widened the gap with his pursuers in terms of individual titles. He currently owns a record collection of 6 championships and 2 world runner-up titles.
However, what attracted attention and caused controversy was the original image of this character: a boy in a wheelchair, wearing a T1 shirt. Explaining this detail, the developer said that this was a funny image that the T1 fan community jokingly called their team "Paralyzed".
This is a humorous nickname that the fan community has given to Faker and the team, stemming from the fact that T1 players often have problems with performance or make "silly" mistakes. The wheelchair-using character in the game was created to reflect and blend into the internal joking atmosphere of the fan community.

Although meant to be humorous and respectful, this detail has caused discomfort to a large number of T1 fans. Many opinions say that associating the image of a person in a wheelchair with the team they support is offensive and disrespectful, especially when the T1 organization is one of the greatest e -sports icons in the world.
The incident became more tense when a young person on Facebook dressed up as “Paralyzed Boy”, wearing a T1 shirt and openly using a wheelchair in real life to show support (or mock) the team. This action pushed the incident to the center of controversy on social networks.
The incident also clearly reflects the difference in the way fans participate in the modern eSports environment. Unlike traditional sports, eSports athletes and organizations, especially in Korea, are built into “new-style Idols”.
Korean companies have started this trend, applying the management, marketing and image-building formulas of the K-Pop industry to eSports. This makes eSports organizations more sensitive to negative or offensive elements, even if intended to be humorous.
Meanwhile, League of Legends is still a form of competitive play through the gaming environment. With the enthusiasm and strong reactions of sports fans, details like “Paralyzed Boy” are considered normal.
Talking to Tri Thuc - Znews , the author of Anh Hai Pho Shop said that the purpose of bringing "touchy" details to the fandoms is to create surprise and laughter. However, this programmer also identified the sensitivity of the matter and affirmed that he has no intention of applying the same method to his future games.
