On the morning of July 21, the People's Committee of Thanh Binh Commune ( Da Nang City) held a ceremony to receive the provincial-level relic ranking certificate for "Bat Cave Scenic Area" in Tien An Commune, Tien Phuoc District, former Quang Nam Province, now Thanh Binh Commune, Da Nang City.

Today's event took place before the first Thanh Binh Commune Party Congress (term 2025-2030) and created more joy and new momentum for the Party Committee, government and people in the commune.

According to Mr. Lin, the Bat Cave complex was formed from 530 to 158 million years ago, one of the oldest rock formations in the Quang Nam - Da Nang region. The rocks of the Kham Duc and Nui Vu formations are metamorphic rocks exposed on a large scale in the Bat Cave landscape, clearly shown through color, foliation structure, micro-folding...

This is a rare exposure in the tropics because it is entirely bedrock, while in most other places (in Yen Bai, Nghe An and the Central Highlands) bedrock is heavily weathered. The exposed bedrock of Bat Cave is like a natural museum of geological activity, contributing to clarifying the history of an important geological development stage of the Earth.

Therefore, these are interesting places to visit, study and research to understand the environment of rock formation, the natural transformation process under the influence of temperature, pressure and tectonic fields.

"Bat Cave has a very charming natural landscape. The slate cliffs are very sharply abraded, creating strange, attractive lines like ancient characters on the surface of the cliffs. The rocks are majestic, sturdy, and have majestic shapes. Natural images like abstract lithographs and paintings are displayed on the surface of the rocks here. The strangely shaped rocks allow viewers to freely speculate and imagine... creating an unforgettable impression on the viewer" - Mr. Lin shared.

According to the Chairman of Thanh Binh Commune People's Committee, Bat Cave also has a diverse ecosystem, located near O O Vuc Vin stream, Thanh Cong reservoir... All of these have created an environmentally friendly ecological space, with great potential for exploiting rural ecotourism.

During the resistance war against France and the US, Bat Cave was the base of revolutionary organizations of Zone V, the Provincial Party Committee and the old Tien Phuoc district. This is the place where the QB 150 Engineering Workshop of Zone V was chosen as the base to produce weapons and ammunition. Thanks to the abundant source of bat droppings in the caves, the workers of the Engineering Workshop exploited it to produce gunpowder, ensuring the supply of ammunition for the entire battlefield of Zone V.

During the period of resistance against the US to save the country, the C45 unit of Tien Phuoc district chose Hang Doi as a base, both to consolidate and build forces and to coordinate with local militia to increase patrols and control the area. The dangerous location of Hang Doi was a safe shelter for the activities of revolutionary organizations, contributing to the final victory of our people's resistance war against foreign invaders...

Thanh Binh Commune is the only commune among the four communes of Tien Phuoc District (formerly) that has many relics and scenic spots ranked at all levels, including two national relics and six provincial relics and scenic spots.
