Sinh Ton Island military doctors provide timely emergency care to a fisherman with a broken kneecap.

On the afternoon of June 14, Sinh Ton Island Infirmary (Truong Sa District) received and treated fisherman Pham Van Minh (born in 1985, crew member on fishing boat QN 95489 TS of Quang Nam Province) who suffered a broken kneecap while working at sea.

Bring fishermen to the island for emergency treatment.

Accordingly, at around 6am on June 14, while working on the ship, Mr. Minh slipped and fell, hitting his right knee on the wooden floor, causing excruciating pain and making it impossible for him to stand up. The patient received first aid and was taken to the island at 2pm.

Through examination and X-ray, the doctor determined that the patient had a fractured right patella and needed surgery soon. The military medical staff performed surgery, drained the fluid, fixed it with a plaster cast, and continued monitoring and treatment at the island infirmary.

Doctors rescue fishermen.

Since the beginning of 2025, the Sinh Ton Island military medical force has provided emergency treatment to 12 cases of fishermen in distress at sea, of which 3 were serious and had to be transferred to a higher level. Military medical work on the island not only contributes to protecting the health and lives of fishermen, but also demonstrates the spirit of “military and people have one will”, contributing to maintaining sovereignty and peace at sea.
