Quang Nam Club will not participate in V.League 2025/26 and is preparing to complete the merger process with Da Nang Club. A team official confirmed this information to Tri Thuc - Znews and said that Quang Nam will soon send an official dispatch to Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF).

The move surprised many people, because Quang Nam had no intention of transferring its V.League spot to any other partner. That left Vietnam's highest league with only 13 teams, forcing VPF to consider adding a representative from the First Division to ensure stability.

The most promising candidate is Binh Phuoc Club, the runner-up of the First Division in the 2023/24 season. If they are promoted to play in the V.League, this will be a great opportunity for Nguyen Cong Phuong and many other stars who have just joined the Southeast team.

In a short time, Binh Phuoc announced a series of notable new players such as Tran Minh Vuong, Le Van Son, Luong Xuan Truong... On the coaching bench, coach Nguyen Viet Thang was appointed to replace coach Huynh Quoc Anh, showing the great ambition of the rookie team if given the opportunity.

As for Quang Nam, the team that won the V.League 2017 has not been able to maintain its position in recent years. After being relegated in 2020 - and then returning to the V.League, they struggled to stay in the league and faced many financial and personnel difficulties. The merger helps Da Nang Club have more forces to inherit from Quang Nam Club to look forward to the new season.

Currently, Quang Nam is the host of the 2025/26 pre-season friendly tournament with the participation of Ninh Binh, Da Nang, HAGL, Ha Tinh and the Korean student team.
